About DaysNest
DaysNest is a small, independent site that makes everyday date questions quick to answer: today's Islamic date, when Ramadan starts in your city, how many days until Eid, and exactly how old you are.
Why we built it
Most date and Hijri tools online are slow, covered in pop-ups, or quietly wrong for countries where the moon is sighted a day later. DaysNest shows the answer first, explains where it comes from, and lets you switch between the Saudi calendar and your local sighting.
How our dates are calculated
- Hijri dates use the Umm al-Qura calendar of Saudi Arabia, with a one-day local adjustment where moon sighting usually runs later (for example Pakistan, India and Bangladesh).
- Sehri and iftar times are calculated astronomically for each city with a widely used regional method, which is named on every timetable.
- Ages are counted in completed years, months and days, the same way official forms do.
Islamic dates are always confirmed by local moon sighting. For religious decisions, follow your local mosque or national moon-sighting committee.
