Ramadan 2027 timetable for Sialkot
Ramadan companion for Sialkot
First sehri of Ramadan ends in
Tuesday 9 February at 5:27 AM (Sialkot time)
At sehri, before Fajr
Intention for the fast (niyyah)
وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ
Wa bi-sawmi ghadin nawaitu min shahri Ramadan
“I intend to keep tomorrow’s fast of the month of Ramadan.”
A common wording in South Asia, not from a hadith. The intention in your heart is what counts, so you can also make it in your own words.
At iftar, after sunset
Dua when breaking the fast
ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
Dhahaba al-zama’u, wabtallatil-‘uruqu, wa thabatal-ajru in sha’ Allah
“The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is certain, if Allah wills.”
Reported from the Prophet ﷺ in Sunan Abi Dawud (2357). Many also say “Allahumma laka sumtu wa ‘ala rizqika aftartu” (O Allah, for You I fasted and with Your provision I break my fast), reported in Abi Dawud (2358).
Days 1 to 10
First ten days: mercy
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Rabbighfir warham wa anta khayrur-rahimin
“My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of those who show mercy.”
Quran 23:118. Dividing Ramadan into three “ashras” of mercy, forgiveness and safety from the Fire is a popular tradition; any sincere dua is welcome on any day.
The odd nights of the last ten
Dua for Laylatul Qadr
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni
“O Allah, You are forgiving and You love to forgive, so forgive me.”
Taught by the Prophet ﷺ to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi (3513).
